Dr. Robert Carmichael
Dr. Robert Carmichael is a prosthodontist with over 25 years of experience in both adult and pediatric oral reconstruction and rehabilitation of patients with complex needs including:
- cleft lip and palate
- craniofacial anomalies
- trauma
- tumor resection
- other rare disorders
He has well-established track records in clinical practice, teaching, research, hospital administration and outreach to communities in northern Ontario (where he supervises the care of children with cleft lip and palate and other craniofacial disorders).
Dr. Carmichael trained in Vancouver, Switzerland and Toronto.
He is:
- Chief of Dentistry and Director of the Ontario Cleft Lip and Palate/Craniofacial Dental Program at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital
- Co-Director of the International Team for Implantology Scholarship Center at Bloorview Kids Rehab
- Co-Director of the International Team for Implantology Center of Excellence for Implant Education at Bloorview Kids Rehab
- ITI Education Week Toronto Lessons from a Pediatric Rehabilitation Center October 27-30, 2010
- Coordinator of Prosthodontics at SickKids
- Assistant professor in dentistry at the University of Toronto
Dr. Carmichael holds numerous international patents in dental instrumentation and implants.
